ALPACAS

  The Huggable Investment

*Alpacas are members of the Camelid family. They have been domesticated by high Andean civilizations of South America for over 5,000 years. They are related to llamas, but are smaller and have a sweeter disposition.

At maturity alpacas weigh around 150 pounds and are about 36 inches in height at the shoulder. Alpacas produce a high quality luxurious fiber that is incredibly soft and strong. Alpacas are remarkably gentle, clean, intelligent and disease resistant. They communicate with a slight humming sound. They are well known for their affinity with children. Since alpacas are quite rare, the animals and their fleece are extremely valuable. Alpacas provide an excellent investment opportunity. No other farm animal can equal the alpaca in offering sound investment returns from easily managed animals on a small acreage. They are inexpensive to raise, requiring minimal feed, shelter, fencing or veterinarian costs. They produce a cash crop in the form of fiber. They are fully insurable. They have tax advantages such as expense deductions, depreciation, and the deferred recognition of accumulating wealth. In short, they are the world's finest livestock investment.
